Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how AkiPlay collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use the AkiPlay apps, website, support services, and optional cloud features. By using AkiPlay, you acknowledge the practices described here.
2. AkiPlay Is a Media Player
AkiPlay does not provide, sell, host, or control television channels, movies, series, playlists, or other media. You choose and supply your own authorized Xtream, M3U, XMLTV, or Stalker Portal source. Your provider is independent of AkiPlay and may have its own privacy practices. AkiPlay does not inspect or monitor the contents of your streams; the app may save the playback progress and history described below.
3. Information We Collect
- Device and license information: A randomly generated app device identifier, device label and platform, license association, Pro entitlement, plan, and entitlement dates. This lets AkiPlay recognize a device and provide licensed or synchronized features without requiring a traditional account.
- Purchase history: Product identifier, subscription or purchase status, transaction and entitlement information, purchase and expiration dates, and related storefront information supplied by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or our web payment processor. AkiPlay does not receive or store your complete payment-card number.
- Provider information: Provider name, source type, server or playlist address, username, password, and related configuration when you add a source. This information is stored locally to connect to the provider you chose. If you enable an eligible cloud synchronization feature, the provider configuration is also sent to AkiPlay for synchronization.
- App content and preferences: Favorites, watchlists and preferred audio languages, watch history and playback progress, app settings, electronic program guide configuration, and provider capability information. Some of this data remains only on your device; eligible cloud synchronization features send it to AkiPlay so it can be available on your linked devices.
- Optional voice assistants: When you link Alexa, AkiPlay receives an account-linking token and the recognized title or clarification needed to fulfill your request. The cloud watchlist catalog includes title, type, year, description, provider item identifiers and language labels. AkiPlay sends choices and confirmations to Alexa; provider playback URLs and credentials are excluded from this assistant catalog. Siri and Android assistant features use a catalog stored on your device and can sync confirmed watchlist changes through your linked license. Android assistant functions return matching title metadata and confirmation prompts to the authorized assistant, excluding playback URLs, artwork and provider credentials. Pending Android confirmations expire after ten minutes and are cleaned during later requests.
- Playback connection awareness: For linked licensed devices, we send an account fingerprint, app device identifier, platform, playback state, session identifier, ordering counter, and update time to identify active AkiPlay sessions. We also query your provider locally for connection counts when supported. Connection notices may show platform names and playback states to other devices linked to your license. This feature does not upload stream addresses, content titles, or provider passwords.
- Diagnostics and service data: Redacted app diagnostics stored on your device, plus limited server request, error, security, and operational records such as timestamps, network address, device identifier, and app version. We use this information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot AkiPlay.
- Communications: Your email address and the information you choose to provide when you contact support.
We do not sell personal information, use third-party advertising trackers, or use your information for cross-app advertising.
4. How We Collect Information
We receive information directly from you, automatically from the app or website as needed to provide the service, and from transaction partners such as Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and our web payment processor.
5. How We Use Information
- Connect to the media source you configure and display its catalog and guide.
- Process, restore, and verify purchases and Pro entitlements.
- Link authorized devices and provide optional synchronization.
- Save favorites, playback progress, settings, and provider configuration.
- Operate, secure, diagnose, maintain, and improve AkiPlay.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
6. Provider Credentials and HTTP Sources
On supported Apple platforms, provider secrets are stored in the device Keychain. On supported Android phones, passwords are protected with an Android Keystore key. Other installations store provider configuration in app-private local storage. Provider secrets synchronized through AkiPlay are encrypted at rest, and communication with AkiPlay services uses HTTPS.
AkiPlay supports both HTTP and HTTPS user-provided sources. If you choose an HTTP source, traffic between your device and that third-party provider—including credentials included in a provider URL or request—may travel without transport encryption. Use HTTPS whenever your provider supports it. AkiPlay does not control a provider's security, retention, or privacy practices.
7. When We Share Information
We share information only as needed with service providers that help us deliver AkiPlay, including:
- Apple and Google for app distribution, in-app purchases, and transaction management.
- Amazon Alexa when you enable and link the optional watchlist skill, including recognized requests, title choices and spoken confirmations.
- RevenueCat for purchase validation, entitlement management, and purchase restoration.
- Our web payment processor for purchases initiated on the AkiPlay website.
- Hosting, database, storage, security, and support providers that process information on our behalf.
These providers receive only the information needed for their functions and are required to protect it consistently with applicable law and their agreements with us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
8. Retention and Deletion
- Information stored only on your device remains until you remove it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
- Synced provider data, favorites, watchlists, history, settings, device links, and license records are retained while needed to provide the feature or maintain the applicable entitlement.
- Cloud watchlist removal markers are retained to prevent offline devices from restoring deleted titles. Watchlist operation receipts are kept for up to 90 days. Alexa conversation state expires after ten minutes and response receipts after one day; expired records are cleaned during later requests. Superseded catalog uploads older than one day are cleaned during later uploads, and catalogs older than seven days are excluded from assistant search. OAuth codes last five minutes, access tokens one hour and rotating refresh tokens up to 90 days; token records contain hashes. Contact support to request deletion of retained account data.
- Playback session records stop being considered active after 90 seconds without an update. Records older than one day are removed during subsequent session updates; inactive records do not appear in connection notices.
- Operational and security logs are generally retained for up to 90 days unless a longer period is required to investigate abuse, protect the service, or comply with law.
- Support communications may be retained for up to 24 months.
- Purchase, transaction, tax, and license records may be retained for the period required by law, fraud prevention, accounting, or dispute resolution.
After a verified deletion request, we delete or de-identify eligible information from active systems within 30 days. Residual copies may remain in protected backups for up to 90 days and are removed through the normal backup lifecycle. Apple, Google, RevenueCat, payment processors, and your media provider control their own records; you may need to contact them separately.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You can remove providers, favorites, history, settings, or linked devices using available app controls. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to request access, correction, a copy, restriction, objection, or deletion of personal information. Email support@akiplay.tv with the subject “Privacy Request.” We may ask for limited information to verify that you control the relevant device or license.
Deleting AkiPlay data does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel a store subscription through the store where you purchased it. You may withdraw optional consent or stop optional synchronization through the app, where available. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
10. Children
AkiPlay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
11. Security and International Processing
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Information may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to safeguards required by applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as AkiPlay or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required.
13. Contact Us
For privacy questions, complaints, appeals, or data requests, email support@akiplay.tv.
Website referral summaries
Our website records the referring service, when a browser supplies it, and the public page requested to understand how visitors find AkiPlay. We also record optional download-button click intents with the referring service label and selected platform. A click does not tell us whether an app was installed or purchased. These summaries do not include raw referrer URLs, search terms, account identifiers or cookies. We skip optional referral summaries when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. A Google or Bing referral does not tell us whether you saw an AI answer.
